The Oloke-Odan of Oke-Odan in the Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Oluwarotimi Fagbenro, has said that the forthcoming Oke-Odan festival will foster reunion of the natives of the town, which would induce infrastructural development.

Oba Fagbenro made this known on Saturday at Oke-Odan, during the announcement of the maiden edition of the Oke-Odan festival, which is scheduled for November 26 to December 2, 2023.

The monarch also called on policy makers in the relevant authorities to adopt the concept of Community Development Association as an approach to drive development.

He said, “The essence of this Oke-Odan festival is to attract back home the great sons and daughters of this land to contribute their quota towards helping with our infrastructural development. We all can move mountains if we so agree and are united in our pursuit of greater heights for our darling fatherland.

“My experience with the development plunge of this town in the past twenty years informed my advisory to the government to adopt CDA for development.”

Also speaking on the activities of the festival at the unveiling, former commissioner the chairman of the Oke-Odan Festival Planning Committee, Ali Ajibode, commended the pace of development in the town under the reign of the monarch, noting that it had been “progressive.”
